About This Spot

Step inside Paco’s Tacos 2, and you’re greeted by a lively, no-frills vibe that feels perfectly at ease with its bustling Pulaski Road setting. This is a spot built for quick but satisfying visits — a place where the pace matches the vibrant rhythm of everyday Chicago life. There’s a bright, clean energy here, punctuated by the chatter of hungry locals and the focused hum behind the counter where fresh tortillas and sizzling meats are prepared with care.

The atmosphere leans into its simplicity: seating is practical, designed for moments rather than lingering hours, with high chairs lined against the walls and large windows offering a steady stream of people-watching. It’s a place where you can slip in during a busy day and still feel the pulse of connection to a local tradition — that unmistakable feeling of sharing authentic food made for real cravings.

What makes Paco’s Tacos 2 stand out is how it delivers on that core promise of any great taqueria: fresh, generous portions piled high with tender carne asada, soft carnitas, and an adventurous roster of flavors like chewy lengua or crispy chicharron. Each bite carries a balance of smoky char, vibrant salsa, and homemade touches that bring you back for more. For many visitors, the variety of tacos and tortas isn’t just about filling up — it’s an experience of textures and tastes that tell a story beyond the plate.

The pace here is swift, feeding both regulars on their lunch break and families stopping by for a quick, honest meal. While the service is efficient, it never feels rushed or cold — the friendly exchanges at the window add a subtle layer of warmth to the quick dining rhythm. There’s a familiarity that settles in as you watch plates assembled with care, even when the place hums with the busy energy of a neighborhood treasure.

In all, Paco’s Tacos 2 quietly captures a slice of Chicago’s rich Mexican culinary heartbeat. It’s a lived-in, approachable spot where the focus remains on quality, tradition, and uncomplicated pleasure — an ideal destination for those craving genuine flavors served fast, without fuss but with unmistakable heart.

I went to the other locations years ago, and I didn't care much for the food to ever go back a second time. Now, to this location was my first time going, and wow, was I surprise! The tacos were awesome!! And huge!!!! The place was busy, but we still got our food pretty quickly. Everything was great! I'm not much of a salsa person, but I did enjoy the green salsa. I actually went a second time about a week later because of how good they were. Definitely in my top 3 fave restaurants.

Taco's and Burritos are stacked!!!! Food was fresh and fast to the window. Pricey until you see how much you get. Will be back.

Went here for the first time today and tried the carne asada tacos. Best tacos I’ve ever had in my life. Good portions at a decent price. Highly recommend!

Food was great! Hot, fresh and fast and very affordable. Service was friendly and quick since they were quite busy early in the day, very surprised there weren't any sit down tables but instead they had options to sit in a high chair at any spot against a long table attached to the walls or facing their large windows. The place was very clean and bright along with being quite chilly inside to which I didn't mind.

Legendary Mexican restaurant on the south side. Ive been going to this place for over 20 years. Awesome Tacos and tortas. A certified mexican chicago staple. It doesn’t get more authentic than Pacos Tacos!

Paco Tacos is a hidden gem that never disappoints! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and made with care. Their tacos are packed with perfectly seasoned meat, fresh cilantro, and lime that brings everything together.
